Bear Cubs

 Event

How old is a Bear Cub?

Bear Cubs are in the third grade.

What do Bear Cubs do?

Bear Cubs continue to build on the core concepts learned in Tiger and Wolf Cubs. The path to Bear Cub has a greater focus on regiment, duty and team leadership through the Denner and Assistant Denner roles. These leadership positions give your cub a chance to hone and test his leadership skills.

Bear cubs also work on testing their ability to adhear to a code of conduct and work to hone a new skill by earning their Whittling Badge.

Are family and parental involvement still a part of Bear Cubs?

Cub Scouting is a family activity. While your Bear Cub will be focusing more on his personal leadership abilities he will still be looking to his Akela and his family for examples. If you have not accepted a leadership position in the Pack the Bear path is a good time to get trained to be an Assistant Den Leader or volunteer to head up or help organize a Pack Committee position such as popcorn sales, advancement, trainer, camping, chairman or council representative.
