How old is a Tiger Cub?

Tiger cubs are in the first grade. Tigers are the youngest of all the Cub Scouts.

What do Tiger Cubs do?

The Tiger program is the base program of Scouting. The Tiger Cub learns the basic concepts of Scouting, citizenship, teamwork, reverence, faithfullness, self reliance, mental and physical fitness, honesty and morality. These basic concepts are learned through a fun, active program of family activities, den activities pack activities and field trips.

How much of a time committment is Tiger Cubs?

Tiger Cubs has a strong family focus. Each Tiger Cub should have a family member who acts as the Tigers Akela or parent guide. Leadership for your Tiger Den comes from the Akelas. Eventually two or more Akelas will come forward to become Trained Leaders. The leadership will help guide the Tigers and their Akelas on their path toward acheivement.

Each week you and your Tiger will spend approximately two and a half hours working the Tiger handbook, attending a Den metting, a field trip or a Pack meeting.

What is the difference between a Den Meeting and a Pack Meeting?

Den meetings are time spent with the other Tigers in your Den at the Nativity School Pack 177 meeting location or on a field trip. Den meetings are generally 1 hour long. You will attend 1 Den Meeting and 1 field trip per month.

Pack Meetings are time spent with the entire Pack... all the Dens from each Den level, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos. Pack meetings are typically 2 hours long and are held at the Nativity School Pack 177 meeting location. The whole family is invited to Pack meetings. Pack meetings have family activities, presentations, and recognition of Cub achievment and advancement.
